Sara is a seasoned attorney who has extensive experience conducting investigations in both the public and private sectors.
Before joining Hulst & Handler LLP, Sara was one of four investigators in the Title IX Office at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There she conducted complex investigations involving allegations of sexual violence, sexual harassment, and gender and sex discrimination by students, staff, and faculty.
Sara first developed her investigation skills at another investigations firm conducting third party workplace and Title IX investigations. She investigated a wide range of claims including racial and gender discrimination, sexual harassment and assault, and discriminatory hiring practices.
Sara litigated for ten years before focusing solely on performing investigations. Throughout Sara’s career, she has used her legal expertise to provide pro bono services in her community. She successfully represented families seeking asylum and provided limited scope representation at clinics for domestic violence survivors, veterans, and DACA recipients. Sara has volunteered for Election Protection, both in the field and for the organization’s hotline, in nearly every election since her admission to the bar.
Sara earned her B.A. from UCLA and her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her family.
