Rachel Hulst is an experienced employment attorney who centers her practice on conducting thorough and efficient neutral investigations in the workplace, on university campuses and at K-12 schools. After many years of deposing and interviewing a variety of individuals in litigation, Rachel has developed an aptitude for obtaining and evaluating information from witnesses. Having seen countless investigations challenged in litigation, Rachel has the perspective needed to arrive at well reasoned findings supported by solid evidence that will withstand scrutiny.
Rachel has conducted investigations involving a wide variety of claims, including, harassment, discrimination, bullying/abusive conduct and sexual assault. Rachel is a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators. Rachel is trained in conducting Title IX investigations and in employing trauma-informed investigation practices.
Prior to founding Hulst & Handler LLP, Ms. Hulst handled all types of employment litigation cases before California state and federal courts and administrative agencies for 16 years. She also counseled employers on employment law issues. Rachel gained significant experience in employment matters at Epstein, Becker & Green, a firm with one of the largest labor and employment practices in the nation. Rachel’s experience over many years at smaller employment law firms gave her the ability to manage all aspects of litigation and to develop her own small business clients.
Rachel is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego (Provost Honors), and Golden Gate University School of Law, where she was on The Dean’s List and graduated in the top 20 percent of her class.
